What to Expect Day 6

Celebrated for her "impeccably focused singing" (Opera News), Ukrainian-American soprano Yelena Dyachek has already performed in a wide variety of productions, from Così fan tutte to Eugene Onegin, from The Threepenny Opera to Iphigénie en Tauride.

This season Dyachek will perform with San Francisco Opera's Merola Program, as well as in the role of Dominique de Menil in the world premiere of Some Light Emerges, and First Secretary in Nixon in China, with Houston Grand Opera.

Patrons are invited to a perfect pairing of wine and music at Cliff Lede Vineyards, host of today's festive luncheon.

Drawing on grapes from estate vineyards named after rock-'n-roll songs, Cliff Lede produces handcrafted Sauvignon Blanc and Cabernet Sauvignon. The flagship wine, Poetry Cabernet Sauvignon, has been called "bottled perfection (Robert Parker)."

The party starts in the White Room (an homage to the Beatles' White Album, as well as a clue to Lede's passion for music) where guests will enjoy select vintages to a soundtrack of carefully curated sonic gems from Lede's personal music collection. 

Lunch is served family-style on the expansive and art-adorned patio, paired with the estate's stellar wines.

The legendary Brazilian composer, keyboardist and singer Sergio Mendes rose to international stardom with the sensuously supple and swinging music of his Brasil '66, the Grammy Award-winning ensemble that put its stylish touch on a wide range of pop music – from the bossa nova of Antonio Carlos Jobim to the songs of Burt Bacharach and the Beatles.

The master, Oscar-nominated musician, who has recorded 40 albums, has brought his sophisticated Brazilian sensibility to many kinds of music in recent decades, collaborating with artists as varied as Justin Timberlake and the Black Eyed Peas. He leads his current ensemble in a mix of Mendes-arranged classics and contemporary dance tunes.

Alpha Omega winery, with its dazzling, landmark fountains and mesmerizing views of vineyards and the Mayacamas Mountains, captivates just as much as its delicious wines.

Once again, vintners Robin and Michelle Baggett fire up their enviable collection of barbecue grills and smokers to host one of the festival's favorite events: an upscale, down-home dinner that always tantalizes the taste buds. Joining in the festivities is chef Jesse McQuarrie of Feast Catering, whose creative cuisine is the perfect accouterment to Robin's almost world-famous barbecue. 

Beautiful, handcrafted wines from über-talented Alpha Omega winemaker Jean Hoefliger co-star. An added element promises to delight diners even more.
