What to Expect Day 2

Day two of Festival Napa Valley hits the ground running with the 5K and 10K SunRun. The festival’s signature event, Taste of Napa, presents an opportunity to discover the best of Napa Valley before an Americana concert featuring Gershwin’s Rhapsody in Blue, with a special appearances by soprano Kathleen Battle. An elegant patron dinner hosted by HALL Wines rounds out the day.

5K & 10K Sun Run

Time to dust off the running shoes for Festival Napa Valley's second annual Sun Run. The popular 5K and 10 K race starts at Lincoln Theater in Yountville, and participants can choose to run, jog, or walk along the Vine Trail, to and through charming downtown Yountville, and into the surrounding vineyards. All proceeds go towards supporting the Napa County Alliance for Arts Education, a coalition dedicated to promoting arts education access, equity and quality in Napa County K-12 public schools.
Taste of Napa at Cairdean Estate

Festival Napa Valley’s signature event, Taste of Napa, brings together a stellar collection of wineries, restaurants and food artisans in a stunning estate setting accompanied by live music and the spectacular summer sun.

Attendees are invited to explore the grounds of Cairdean Estate in St. Helena, tasting coveted Napa wines paired with an expansive selection of small bites from the region's most talked about restaurants and food artisans. For a more exclusive experience, the Reserve Tasting Salon offers guests an unparalleled selection of fine wines paired with hors d’oeuvres from Estate Events by Meadowood.

Celebrity chef Ryan Scott, a regular on the TODAY show, the Rachael Ray Show, and host of KGO’s Cooking with Ryan Scott, broadcasts live from the event. Dr. Melina Jampolis, nutrition specialist and author of The Doctor on Demand Diet, will be on hand to sign her critically acclaimed book. Chef and Blue Apron Wine Director, Thad Morrow, hosts a seminar on the art of food and wine pairing. And wine country guitarist Morris LeGrande treats guests to a live performance and dance party, providing the finishing touch to this pleasure-packed epicurean experience.

Is there a better way to spend a summer Saturday in the Napa Valley? We can’t think of one.
Rhapsody in Blue at Lincoln Theater

Maestro Joel Revzen leads the Festival Orchestra NAPA – a sterling ensemble comprising musicians from the New York Metropolitan Opera Orchestra, the San Francisco Symphony, the Los Angeles Philharmonic, and other top international orchestras – in a rich all-American program. Tonight's concert features two twentieth century masterpieces:  Copland's stirring Lincoln Portrait, narrated with excerpts from Abraham Lincoln's writings, and Gershwin's jazz-fueled Rhapsody in Blue. The concert also features two very special guests: virtuoso Cuban pianist Aldo López-Gavilán who makes his US Orchestra debut, and celebrated American soprano Kathleen Battle.

Allegro After Party at Yao Family Wines

When basketball superstar and global humanitarian Yao Ming traded in the court for the vineyard, anticipation was huge. Yao Family Wines, which just opened a beautiful, brand new tasting room serving exceptional varietals from six Napa vineyards, lives up to expectations. This Allegro After Party is an opportunity to stand tall and be one degree of separation away from Ming in the same year he enters the NBA Hall of Fame, while enjoying his superb and quintessentially Napa wines.

Craig and Ambassador Kathryn Hall open their hilltop home, designed to allow nature and art take center stage, for this patron dinner in the world famous Rutherford appellation

Sweeping views of the Mayacamas Mountains and a sensational contemporary art collection that includes works from Jackson Pollock, Frank Stella and Roy Lichtenstein serve as a backdrop for this lively dinner. Guests will dine alfresco on a gourmet meal from Estate Events by Meadowood, paired with extraordinary wines from HALL and WALT, overlooking the legendary Sacrashe vineyard. With Ed Neff's Blue & Lonesome band picking and playing bluegrass live, there is a good chance tonight's guests may find themselves wanting to dance a few steps. Don't say we didn't warn you!
