Each year, Festival del Sole supports a variety of educational and cultural initiatives throughout Napa Valley.
Nurturing the next generation of artists
Festival del Sole’s Bouchaine Young Artists Series presents some of America’s most talented young musicians in admission-free concerts. These artists are given the opportunity to hone their performance skills in a professional, challenging, and inspiring environment. Festival del Sole has presented over 30 young artists to date, many of whom have gone on to prestigious music schools and successful professional careers. Festival del Sole awards a scholarship underwritten by Tatiana and Gerret Copeland to each participating artist.
Festival del Sole brings the gift of music to all through community concerts each season. These performances, as well as the Bouchaine Young Artist Series, are free to the public. And while Festival del Sole can’t make all of its concerts free, they can be made accessible to all. The festival distributes hundreds of free and discounted tickets each year to veterans, student groups and others.
Supporting arts education and meaningful charitable causes
Festival del Sole helps strengthen the community by supporting important local initiatives. An annual grant to the Napa Valley Youth Symphony underwrites four scholarships and supports the Symphony’s educational efforts in local schools. The festival’s popular master class program provides a unique opportunity for students, teachers and artists to learn from some of the world’s most renowned dancers and musicians. Open rehearsals invite students and seniors to experience an insider’s look at the artistic process. The festival dedicates evenings in support of important causes - beneficiaries have included local performing arts organizations, the Juvenile Diabetes Research Foundation, The Pathway Home and the Napa Land Trust.
In 2012, Festival del Sole awarded a major grant to Napa’s Salvador Elementary School to support the school's Artful Learning arts residency program.
