Bouchaine Vineyards is a premier producer of award-winning Pinot Noir and Chardonnay, and is the oldest continuously-operated winery in Carneros, Napa Valley. Proprietors Gerret and Tatiana Copeland, together with winemaker Mike Richmond, focus on creating wines that embody the elegance of Burgundy and the exuberance of Napa.
Originally established in 1928 by Johnny Garretto, the winery has sustained a long legacy of family ownership. Gerret and Tatiana Copeland, of Wilmington, Delaware, followed their dream of specializing in their favorite Burgundian varietals, Pinot Noir and Chardonnay.
Bouchaine continues today to apply common-sense sustainable practices to making interesting, layered wines with sensual delight. The winery’s beautiful façade is made from recycled redwood from the winery’s original wine tanks. Bouchaine received the Napa Valley Green Certification, an endorsement of active participation in the preservation of natural resources. Located just north of the San Pablo and San Francisco Bays, the vineyards are directly influenced by the fog that rolls in each night. The shallow, clay loam soils are perfectly suited to Pinot Noir and Chardonnay. Bouchaine’s wines beautifully embody the elusive goal of blending power and full flavor while preserving the ethereal perfume that is Pinot Noir.
